Marina Bay Pedestrian Bridge Opened

The world's first double helix curved pedestrian bridge will open to the public at 9.30pm. The Helix pedestrian bridge spans over the Marina Bay and connects Marina Centre to the Bayfront area. The bridge will also lead to the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort.

The building of a landmark Bridge at Marina Bay was first announced in March 2006 bu the Government of Singapore. It is meant to be a place for visitors to enjoy and catch a panoramic view of the Singapore city skyline. The design and construction teams was led by award-winning architect Professor Philip Cox, a consultant team, consisting COX Group Pty Ltd (Australia), ARUP Pty Ltd (Australia) and Architects 61 (Singapore).
