Singapore Casino Open On Lunar New Year

Sentosa's casino, Resorts World, open on the first day of Chinese New Year. The S$6.6 billion casino welcomes its first public guests at the auspicious time of 12:18 pm, It is said that 12 18 when pronounced in Cantonese (a Chinese Dialect) sounds like "striking prosperity", which meant to bring good luck to the Casino owners. Admission will be by S$10 tickets, according to the casino, was meant only to ensure crowd control and to prevent over-crowding. Singaporeans and Permanent Residences have to pay a $100 Government Levy to enter the casino, while foreigner and tourist gets in for free.
