MOE Scholar Jailed

Jonathan Wong Wai Kheong, aged 25, was five years' jail. Jonathan Wong was a former Ministry of Education scholar who was caught having sexual offences with an underage (15-year old) girl. Earlier, Wong, was caught for possessing child pornography in Britain, was expelled by the University of York and had his scholarship revoked in 2010. Wong and the girl became close after chatting online over Facebook and Skype. He met up and had sexual encounter on several occasions between February and June 2011 which included oral sex at a toilet at Esplanade Drive and full penatration sex at staircase landings of blocks in Bukit Batok Central and Woodlands Drive on multiple occassions. Wong also lured the girl into sex under the pretence of sexual education which on one occasion the girl had strip and masturbate in an online video chat.

When he was in secondary school, Wong was caught molesting a schoolgirl and peeping into a female toilet. Under Singapore's Children and Young Persons Act, anyone convicted of sexual exploitation can be jailed up to two years and fined S$5,000 for each count.
