Canadian International School Lakeshore

The Canadian International School (CIS) announced the partner, Knowledge Universe, to help finance its new $140 million campus in Lakeshore (Jurong West). According to CIS founder and managing director Mr. Thomas Tang, the injection of funds will give Knowledge Universe a majority stake in CIS. Mr. Tang will continue to manage the school while retaining a significant equity stake of CIS.

The Canadian International School Lakeshore Campus @ Jurong West provides Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programmes for children of expatriates from Early Childhood Education to Grade 12. The school consist of a 3 storey high Admin Block, two wings of 5-storey high classrooms and a Gymnasium Block. The school is located at Jurong West St 41 with easy access to the nearest bus stop and MRT stations (Lake Side, Chinese Garden, Jurong East via bus services).

On completion of the new Lakeside Campus, the communities from Toh Tuck, Bukit Tinggi, and Kampong Bahru will relocate to Lakeside. The recently renovated Canadian International School Tanjong Katong campus will remain and be developed further.

Knowledge Universe Singapore Pte Ltd is a growing global industry leaders with close to 40 infant care centres and preschools in Singapore, serving more than 4000 children aged 2 months to 6 yrs yearly. With about 2,000 early education centres, institutes of higher learning and providers of enrichment programmes globally.

CIS is an independent privately-owned, Canadian International School Pte Ltd, co-educational day school in Singapore that provides classes from Early Child Education to Grade 12. It is accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Education, Canada. Its graduates receive either the Ontario Secondary Diploma or the International Baccalaureate Diploma. CIS was initially established in 1990 as a university preparatory day school and was called Canadian Overseas College. And subsequently changed its name to the Canadian International School (Singapore).
