A large group of University Freshmen took a symbolic walk across the College Link, the link connecting Kent Ridge Campus and UTown, in steps. It marks the start of a new academic year as well as a major milestone in the history of NUS with the completion of the state-of-the-art Education Resource Centre and dormitory blocks. The new Viaduct will link the National University of Singapore (NUS) Kent Ridge campus to its 19ha, $500 million University Town (UTown), which is slated to open in phases from the Mid 2011. The 290m-long viaduct, which will span the six-lane over Ayer Rajah Expressway, will have two lanes for vehicles, a sheltered pedestrian walkway and a dedicated bicycle path. It will cost NUS about $25 million to link Kent Ridge campus with the 19ha University Town.
