Cavenagh Bridge is geographically located at latitude 1° 17' 12" North of the Equator and longitude 103° 51' 7" East of the Prime Meridian on the Map of Singapore. Cavenagh Bridge is the grand old lady of the Singapore River bridges. Built in 1869, the bridge was named in honour of Colonel Cavenagh, the last India-appointed Governor of Singapore. It was originally designed as a drawbridge but on its completion was found only to be suitable only as a fixed structure. It is now a pedestrain bridge.
