Jurong Port is geographically located at latitude 1° 18' 29" North of the Equator and longitude 103° 43' 0" East of the Prime Meridian on the Map of Singapore. Jurong Port covers an area of 120 hectares which started its operation in 1965 and was the first deep-water berth was built to support the then newly-developing Jurong Industrial Estate. Within the Port, it has a Cement Terminal, commissioned in 1997, is the largest common-user cement facility in the world. Which can handle a capacity of over four million tonnes of cement annually. Jurong Port handles conventional cargo such as steel, non-ferrous metal and project cargo. Jurong Port has 13 sophisticated quay cranes plus 2 mobile harbour cranes.
