Pulau Brani

Pulau Brani is located south of Keppel Harbour. The name Pulau Brani is translated from malay name which meant "Island of the Brave".

The 122 hectare Pulau Brani was selected to house the new naval base. In those days, there were some settlements along the coast. On 26 Jan 1974, Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew declared open the Singapore Maritime Command Naval Base on Pulau Brani. Singapore Maritime Command was-later renamed the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN). Part of Brani Naval Base later gave way to PSA's expansion and moved to its modern high-tech base in Tuas in 1995. Some components of the RSN still functions from the Brani Naval Base today.

In 1994 a road Link from Keppel to Pulau Brani & Sentosa was constructed.
