Schering-Plough Factory is geographically located at latitude 1° 20' 0" North of the Equator and longitude 103° 37' 59" East of the Prime Meridian on the Map of Singapore. Schering-Plough Factory in Tuas (Singapore) is a US 260 million Multi-Product Bulk Pharmaceutical Plant (MPP). Schering-Plough Multi-Product Bulk Pharmaceutical Plant houses 14 reactors and 14 hold tanks (with a capacity of about 190,000 litres), four centrifuges and three dryers. The 12,000-sqm state-of-the-art facility was completed in mid-2003 and is now fully operational. The new huge high tech MPP complex only employs 80 people. Schering Corporation was first established in the late 1800s as the U.S. subsidiary of Schering AG, a German-based pharmaceutical and chemical company. In 1971, merged with Plough Inc., a worldwide manufacturer of consumer products, to create Schering-Plough Corporation.
