Singapore Science Centre was established in 1977 as an institution which would be devoted to scientific and technological education.

Exhibitions are the principal means used by the Science Centre for the effective communication of science to visitors, both local and foreign. The themes of exhibitions are generally pertinent to educational, economic, social or technological developments in Singapore. There are more than 7,500 sq. m of exhibition space devoted to the exploration of various topics in science and technology. Currently, the Centre houses more than 700 exhibits in its exhibition halls, with each exhibit being an incubator of scientific knowledge.
