Youth Park - As part of the Orchard Road rejuvenation project, a site of 1.2 hectares next to the Orchard Cineleisure complex and the National Youth Council has be set aside as a community space for young Singaporeans. Three times larger than the current Youth Park located next to the National Youth Centre (NYC), the community space and its activities will provide a focal point for youth activities and enhance the vibrance of the Orchard area. This will be a space by youth, for youth. Young people will participate as well as organize and run sports and recreational activities, cultural and arts performances, as well as social and community programmes. The Youth Community Space is still a work in progress, and youth will have a chance to shape its development. How it will look like, what activities it will be used for, and even its name, will reflect the ideas, the passions and the aspirations of our youth.
