Woman Dead In Swimming Pool At Sentosa Cove

The naked Mainland Chinese woman, Ms. Li Hong Yan, in her mid-twenties was found dead in a private swimming pool in an expensive house along Ocean Drive at Sentosa Cove at around 8am. The house is owned by Mr. Adrian Chua Boon Chye. Police has classified the incident as unnatural death and investigating this case. Sentosa Cove is an expensive waterfront residential enclave in the East of Sentosa Island. The master developer of Sentosa Cove is Sentosa Cove Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Sentosa Development Corporation. Sentosa Cove development comprises of bungalow and condominium residential plots with units configured to either face the artificially-created sheltered waterways, or the open sea.


Air Force Training Command Inaugurated

The new Air Force Training Command (AFTC) in Paya Lebar is inaugurated by Ng Eng Hen who is Singapore's Second Minister for Defence. It will centralised command has been created to streamline the basic training of all Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) soldiers. Air Force personnel of all ranks will for the first time go through some basic modules together in a bid to foster closer camaraderie. New pilots, air traffic controllers and engineers will train together at a facility in Paya Lebar in courses that address both specific vocational needs as well as build core leadership skills.


Singapore Rubik's Cube Open 2010

The Rubik's Cube, a 30 year-old puzzle game, competition was held at Orchard Central. Of the 126 participants, 91 were international players. The aim was to see who in the competition could solve the cubes in the fastest times.


Jackie Chan Appeared In Charity Show

Jackie Chan, Hong Kong Kung Fu Superstar, came to Singapore for Thong Chai Charity Show. The event is a fundraiser for the Singapore's Thong Chai Medical Institution. Thong Chai Medical Institution was set up in 1867 to provide free medical consultation and traditional Chinese medicine to the public. The Thong Chai Charity Show was telecast "live" on MediaCorp's Channel 8 on.


A Thousand Took Part In Pulau Ubin Run

About 1,000 people participated in a run on Pulau Ubin on Saturday to raise environmental awareness and to raised funds for an environmental tree-planting programme. The run, a 5-kilometre or 10-kilometre route, was flagged off by NTUC chief Lim Swee Say.


Train Hit Commuter At Tanah Merah MRT Station

A passenger had fell onto the track at Tanah Merah MRT Station and was hit by a train heading towards Simei Station from Bedok Station. SMRT said that some 5,000 passengers were affected when an eastbound train service was disrupted because of this incident. SMRT is assisting the police in its investigation.


Three More Jailed For Insufficient Fuel

Four motorists who tampered with their vehicles' petrol gauge were arrested separately caught at the Woodlands Checkpoint for having insufficient fuel and tempered fuel gauge. All four men were charged in court for not having the minimum amount of petrol in the fuel tank when attempting to leave Singapore, and giving false information. Of the four, three of them have been fined S$500 and sentenced to two weeks' imprisonment each. The other, the case is pending.


Jail For Cheating Charity Organisation

Dr. Stephanie Chee Jok Heng, 51-year-old with a doctorate in nursing, was found guilty of deceiving Parkway Healthcare Foundation (PHF) and Toa Payoh Senior Citizens' Health Care Centre into making payments of nearly S$6,000 using false reimbursement claims. District Judge Jasvender Kaur said in her judgement that Dr. Chee had succumbed to taking advantage of the weak internal controls of these charities and that Chee's offences were not isolated, but committed on 10 other occasions.


Indian national Charged For Murder

A 34-year-old Indian national, Mr. Gopinathan Nair Remadevi Bijukuma, was charged in connection with the murder of a Filipino woman. A 30-year-old Roselyn Reyes Pascua was found murdered by residents of Peony Mansion. The Filipina is believed to be a friend of the suspect, who was caught near Kitchener Road at about 4pm on 17 March 2010, Wednesday.


Charged For Fight Outside PKMS HQ

Twenty one people were arrested in relation to the fight on 3 September 2009 outside PKMS HQ. Four of them were injured and sent to Changi General Hospital. Twelve men were charged in court in relation to a fight which happened outside the headquarters of opposition party. Ten of them were charged with rioting, while two were charged for rioting with a deadly weapon.
