A Singapore Company, Mayton Auto, was setup to develop a Uniquely Singapore electric car. The company with partners from China and the United States will be putting about S$10 million for the project.

Singapore Government May Open Up Changi Runway

Singapore may open the third runway at Changi Airport for civil aviation use. The runway, Changi Air Base East, is currently used by the military only. More airport terminals may be built on the 1,000-hectare piece of land in Changi.

Singapore Government Collected About $100M

Which translated to about 2 millions Singaporean and PR visits a year. Or about 1,500 local visits each of the casino on any given day. The is a visible rise in gambling addiction amongst wealthy in Singapore. And going to the casino is becoming a social norm here.

MOE Scholar Jailed

Jonathan Wong Wai Kheong, aged 25, was five years' jail. Jonathan Wong was a former Ministry of Education scholar who was caught having sexual offences with an underage (15-year old) girl. Earlier, Wong, was caught for possessing child pornography in Britain, was expelled by the University of York and had his scholarship revoked in 2010.

Gardens by the Bay Opened

Gardens by the Bay welcome it first visitor. The new garden has an elevated walkway between some of the larger Supertrees for visitors to enjoy a breathtaking aerial view of the Gardens. A food and beverage outlet has also been planned atop the 50-metre Supertree. At night, the Supertrees come alive with lighting and project media.

RSAF Airmen To Train With Italian Air Force

Two airmen from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) left for Brindisi in Italy early this morning. RSAF and the Italian Air Force (ITAF) signed a Technical Agreement to train Singapore military personnel in Italy. The agreement sets the terms of the participation of six Singaporean trainee pilots to the ITAF flying training program in Lecce Air Base (Comune di Galatina, Provincia di Lecce, South-Eastern Italy), to obtain the Military Pilot Licence with Aermacchi MB-339A Advanced Jet Trainer at ITAF 213 Squadron (AMI 213º Gruppo).

Guinea Fish To Monitor Water Quality

Singapore's Public Utility Board (PUB) has developed a new automated system which uses fish as "Guinea Pigs" to monitor water quality.The system uses cameras to monitor the activity of a group of freshwater tiger barbs, which is then analysed to detect signs of distress that could indicate a problem with the water.

Ferrari Crashed Into Taxi

A two million dollars red Ferrari 599 GTO, one of Ferrari 's fastest-ever road car, beat the Red Light at Rochor Road and Victoria Street Junction and crashed into a passing blue Comfort Hyundai Sonata Taxi. The impact was so great that parts from both cars, including the engine block of the taxi, was scattered all over the road. The 4.15am accident killed the male driver, a wealthy 30-year old Mainland Chinese National from China's Sichuan Province, the 50-year old local taxi driver and a 40-year old female Japanese passenger riding the taxi. Two other people were injured.
