Punggol Waterfront Town Opens

Punggol Waterfront Town was an ambitious project to transform what some residents have described as a backwater town into a "New Waterfront Town". It has been four years in the making and was envisioned by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. The town, one of the biggest in Singapore, will house some 23,000 families by the end of 2011. Nicknamed "Venice of Punggol", it was built at a cost of S$225 million, lets hope the new waterway built by the Housing and Development Board don't get flooded during the rainy season.
Kwong Wai Shiu To Be Expanded

Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital will be building a new 14-storey facility at its current location and four buildings will be conserved, including the front of the building. The S$70 million building will be operational by 2015 and will boost its current 400 beds to 600.
Occupy Wall Street Supporter Chicken Out

Singapore Supporter "Chicken Out" as they are suppose to show up at Raffles Place in support of the "Occupy Wall Street" protests in New York. 75 indicating they would attend the event of the Singapore movement which had 3,000 followers on Facebook. But as at 2pm, none of the 75 showed up.

Singapore To Curb Car Growth

Singapore Minister for Transport Lui Tuck Yew has said that Singapore's annual vehicle growth cap would be cut further from 2012. The annual vehicle population growth rate will be lowered from the current 1.5% to 1.0% in 2012, and then to 0.5% in 2013 and 2014. Singapore has all the mechanism to implement it easily by throttling the COE quota.
Turf City Management Given Notice To Vacate

The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) has made 29 Feb 2012, the deadline for the 160 businesses there to vacate the site, which is state property. Turf City Management, which is mostly owned by Singapore Agro Agricultural (SAA) was given a 6 months extension as their 10-years lease which started in 2001 had expired. SAA asked for an extension to give its sub-tenants time to relocate their businesses. Turf City Management has started to slowdown the operation and even shutdown its website. The www.turfcity.com.sg displayed only one message "Website under construction".
Pulau Bukom Huge Fire

Pulau Bukom Shell refinery was engulfed in a huge fire. It took the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and oil company Shell more than two days (32 hours) to extinguish it.
Audi Found On Top Of Fullerton Hotel

An Audi car was found on top of the famous Fullerton Hotel this morning. Apparently an imaginative mover lifted the car and place it on the Hotel's roof. After questioning some of the hotel staff, our reporter found out that it was all for the launch party of the car, the R8 GT, over the weekend on the rooftop.
OCBC Banking Network Let You Down

OCBC Banking Network crashed during the day. As such, the banks customer was not able to use its ATM network, its internet, mobile banking channels and even all its branch's front-end banking systems. According to the OCBC, the problem was first detected at about 9am and system was restored only a few hours later. Luckily for their customers the bank branches was able to perform manual transactions, however cash withdrawals can still be made to a maximum of S$2,000 per transaction.
Tangs Plaza Flooded Foul Water

Tangs in Orchard Road had to stop to its business after sewage water flooded the basement of Tangs Plaza. A nearby sewage water pipe had burst. Staff of Tangs were seen spraying air freshener on every floor of the store. This comes after a similar incident in ION Orchard.
