More F-16 C/D For The Air Force

Singapore government announced Peace Carvin II (PC2) which saw the purchase of eighteen F-16 C/Ds (8 x F-16C Block 52 and 10 x F-16D Block 52). The decision was reportedly based on price quoted by Lockheed Martin of USD $23m for each F-16. The new machines will be powered by the F100-PW-229 engine and will have a down rated version of the LANTIRN pod system. The aircraft are AIM-120 AMRAAM and AGM-88 Harm capable.
RSAF's First Women Helicopter Pilot

RSAF's first woman helicopter pilot, Lt Sim, gets her wings. The RSAF has four other women pilots who fly transport aircraft, but Lt Sim is the first to fly a helicopter. Her instructor, Captain Chris Chong, described her as a good and confident student who received no special treatment and trained as hard as her male colleagues.
RSAF to replace Skyvans with Fokker 50s

The air force's ageing fleet of Skyvan transport planes is being replaced with a fleet of longer-range and larger capacity aircraft the Fokker 50s. Four new Fokker 50s, each costing about $15 million, will gradually replace the six Skyvans.
Air force flight school moves to Perth

The first batch of about 300 RSAF personnel and their families leaves for Pearce, Australia. They include pilot-training instructors, ground crew and technicians. These RSAF personnel are there to manage and support the Singapore Basic Wings Course.
RSAF Plane Crashes At Paya Lebar Airport

Two pilots of a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) jet trainer ejected safely when their aircraft crashed at the Paya Lebar Airbase runway yesterday. The RSAF SIAI-Marchetti S.2ll jet aircraft was returning from a routine training flight when the accident occurred.
RSAF jet crashes near Coney Island

A Republic of Singapore Air Force Hawker Hunter cashed into Singapore waters near Coney Island. The pilot of the Hunter, the oldest aircraft In the RSAF's Inventory, ejected to safety before the plane go down.
RSAF F-5E Jet Crash Into Johor
Monday, 2nd September 1991
A Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) fighter aircraft both engines caught fire crashed Kampung Sungai Tekong, south of Johor, during a routine training flight. The pilot of the F-5E aicraft ejected safely. Two people on the ground suffered minor abrasions and several vehicles in a construction site were damaged.
Super Puma Crash Near Safti
Friday, 16th August 1991
A Republic of Singapore Air Force Super Puma helicopter crashed into a reservoir near the Safti training area, killing both pilots on board. A third crewman was rescued and flown to Singapore General Hospital.
Two RSAF F-16A Collided Over South China Sea
Monday, 8th July 1991
Mid-air collision between two RSAF F-16A occurred over the South China Sea. One of the F16 had a third of the right wing was sheared off and the flap bent up 90 degrees. There was also damage to the vertical and horizontal stabilizers on the right side. The other F16 crashed into South China Sea and the pilot ejected out safely.
RSAF planes and men return home
