RSAF Helicopter Crashed In Brunei

An RSAF helicopter with eight serviceman had crashed in bad weather. Five servicemen died. They are Lieutenant Ng Soon Hup, Lieutenant Seow Toh Guan, Lieutenant Wee Tong Leong, Staff Sergeant Goh Kim Loong and Corporal Ramiya Mohan. It was flying from Lakium Camp to Brunei International Airport at Bandar Seri Begawan when the accident happened. Lakium Camp is m the Temburong district and is 26 km south-east of the Brunei capital.
RSAF Plane Crash Two Eject To Safety

A Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) A-4 Skyhawk crashed into the sea south-west of Tengah Air Base during a routine exercise yesterday morning. The instructor, Captain Tai Way Ming, 29, and his student pilot, Lieutenant Goh Char Li, 22, both elected to safety.
RSAF pilot ejects safely

A Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) pilot, Lieutenant Lee Thiam Wah, ejected safely from his Hawker Hunter aircraft before it crashed in the Philippines. The incident occurred shortly after Lt Lee, 22, took off on a routine training flight from Clark Air Base.
Asian Aerospace '86

The third Asian Aeospace '86 (AA86) opened at Changi Airport to rumours that the Show was to move from Singapore to elsewhere in Asia, perhaps Kuala Lumpur. These were dispelled when representatives of Singapore's Economics Development Board (EDB) and organisers Cahners Exposition Group confirmed that future shows would be held in Singapore. EDB said that a new permanent site for Asian Aerospace will be completed in time for the next show. This is the first time RSAF's SIAI-Marchett S.211 Trainer Jets made its public appearance.
RSAF Skyhawk Crashed Into Sea

A Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) A-4 Skyhawk crashed into the sea south of Tengah Airbase. The plane was on a routine flight. The pilot, Lt Leow Yong Yean, 22, ejected safely and was picked up by a boat nearby. An RSAF rescue helicopter was sent to take him to Tengah Medical Centre.
RSAF pilot safe after crash in Luzon

A Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) pilot, Captain Tan Jui Song, ejected safely when his A-4 Skyhawk crashed in Central Luzon in the Philippines. Capt Tan was rescued by a United States Air Force helicopter operating from Clark Air Base.
Singapore Ordered Eight F-16 Fighter Jets

The government of Singapore ordered eight F-16 fighter jets and took an option for 12 more. The F-16/79 Variant was a cost-reduced version of the Fighting Falcon powered by the General Electric J79 turbojet rather than the F100 turbofan. This purchase was under the Peace Carvin I Foreign Military Sales program, and was intended to replace the ageing Hawker Hunters still serving with the Republic of Singapore Air Force since 1969.
SIAI-Marchetti S.211 Jet Trainer Delivered To RSAF

SIAI-Marchetti of Italy delivered the first new SIAI-Marchetti S.211 jet trainers to RSAF. The S.211 was ordered in 1983 by MINDEF. The jet trainer aircraft was to be deployed to two Paya Lebar-based squadrons, 130 and 131 Sqns. The S.211 is for the RSAF's advanced pilot training to replace the ageing RSAF's BAC 167 Strikemaster Mk 84 (purchased new in 1969) and Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star (purchased second-hand from France in 1979).
RSAF Plane Crashed In South China Sea

A RSAF F-5E jet crashes during a routine training flight over the South China Sea. The F-5E 23-year old pilot, Lieutenant Tan Cher Khin, ejects safely from the aircraft.
RSAF Skyhawk Crash Into Straits of Malacca

A RSAF Air Force pilot was missing after the A-4 Skyhawk crashed into an area 30 nautical miles west of Singapore in the Straits of Malacca. 26-year old pilot Lieutenant Khoo Seng Kim was missing while 28-year old pilot Captain Kwok Him Yin was rescured by passing fishing vessel.
