Lorong Chencharu Next Aquarium Fish Centre

Lorong Chencharu have been put aside for an aquarium fish export centre said the Singapore Land Authority (SLA). According to the SLA, four sites will be offered with a 10-year lease with an option to renew for another 10 years. Currently there are 16 business involved in the aquarium fish export operating out of Jalan Kayu. However the Jalan Kayu area, which is also SLA land, was ear-marked for new roads and other industrial development.

Singapore's ornamental fish export industry is the largest in the world and worth almost $100 million annually. The growth is due mainly to Singapore's efficient communications network and freight services, coupled with the excellent production facilities of Singapore exporters and their rate grade services leave many international buyers with strong impression. Mention aquarium fishes to these buyers and Singapore would immediately be evoked in their mind.
