About 180 personnel and various aircraft, eight F-16 C/D fighter jets, an E-2C Airborne Early Warning aircraft and a KC-135R tanker aircraft from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) are participating in Exercise Pitch Black, a multilateral air combat exercise. According to Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this is the 20th year (since 1990) of Exercise Pitch Black which started between Singapore and Australia and later included other air forces in the region. It gave RSAF the opportunity to conduct air operations under realistic training conditions and enhance inter-operability with other participating air forces. The excercise was held in Darwin (Australia) between 16 July 2010 to 6 August 2010.
