Solar-Powered Golf Course Buggy
Monday, 11th October 2010
Singapore launched its first solar-powered buggy feasibility trial. The trial is a collaboration between Sanyo, Singapore Polytechnic and the Marina Bay Golf Course. The buggy will ferrying golfers three rounds of the course each day. It is retrofitted with solar panels, at a cost of S$4,000, which will charge the lead acid batteries, resulting in electricity savings of S$129 of electricity a year. Hmm... so it will take slightly over 31 years to recover the cost of retrofitting it.
