Old National Library Gate Post is geographically located at latitude 1° 17' 46" North of the Equator and longitude 103° 50' 57" East of the Prime Meridian on the Map of Singapore. The Old National Library Building was a former historical building at Stamford Road. Building was completed in 1960 and was a national icon for many Singaporeans. The library was closed on 31 March 2004, and was demolished to make way for the construction of the Fort Canning Tunnel to ease road traffic to the city.
