Turf City Management Take Over Old Turf Club

The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) a 10-year lease of the 56-ha old Bukit Timah Turf Club state land for $14.04 million (from 1 September 2001 to 31 August 2011) to Turf City Management, a consortium led by Singapore Agro Agricultural (SAA). In turn, they offered their sub-tenants a 3-years lease with an option to renew for up to nine years. The Turf City mall occupies 760,000 sq ft and houses more than 160 tenants, ranging from Giant hypermarket to car dealerships and restaurants.
The old Bukit Timah Turf Club comprises of:
1) Main Grandstand and North Grandstand. Following uses capped within GFA of 35,000 sqm:
Hypermart, Shop, Clinic, Ancillary Office, Pet Shop, Pet Grooming, Food & Beverage Outlet, Outdoor Refreshment Area (up to 750 sqm), Commercial School, Beauty, Health & Fitness Centre (exclude massage parlour), Furniture Mall/ Showroom, Retail Nursery. Main Car Park - Motor Vehicle Showroom including car grooming and car washing service (restricted to 1st level only), Public Car Park. Hill Car Park - Car Park (including storage of cars).
2) Sports Complex: Spanning 8 soccer fields big, the sports complex which would be ready by year 2003 would be used for sports facilities as well as big scale events. Suitable for Adventure and Obstacle Courses, Sports Facility (up to 340 sqm is allowed for ancillary sports’ structures – spectators’ stand and changing room)
3) Blocks 2 and 4 - Student Hostel, Childcare Centre, Kindergarten, Student Care Centre, Children Nursery. Store for Storage. Open Field - Adventure and Obstacle Courses, Sports Facility (up to 340 sqm is allowed for ancillary sports’ structures – spectators’ stand and changing room)
Following uses with no cap in GFA quantum: Childcare Centre, Kindergarten, Student Care Centre, Children Nursery, Martial Arts/ Fencing/ Archery School, Sports’ Academy, Sports’ Association, Covered Sports Facility.
