Sunday, 14th November 2010
The Sentosa Cable Car System was halted by a lightning strike. About twenty passengers was trapped in the 15 minutes ordeal that send chills down their spine. This was the first time that such strike has brought down the system. A newly installed backup system was then started to bring the affected cable car cabins back to the Mount Faber, Harbourfront and Sentosa Stations.
The Sentosa Cable Car System was opened in 1974. Sentosa Cable Car has become the synonymous landmark of the city-state's aspiration to become one of Asia's greatest tourist destination. The journey from Mount Faber to Sentosa takes about 10 minutes.
