The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, four-engine jet airliner manufactured by the European corporation Airbus. It is the world's largest passenger airliner and due to its size, many airports have had to expand their facilities to properly accommodate it. The A380 made its maiden flight on 27 April 2005 and entered initial commercial service in October 2007 with Singapore Airlines.

The A380-800 has a cabin of about 480 square metres of floor space with is nearly 50% more floor space than the next-largest airliner, the Boeing 747-400. It provides seating for 500 people in a typical three-class configuration or up to 850 people in all-economy class configurations.
