SMU Churn Out More Lawyers
Thursday, 28th July 2011
The first batch of Singapore Management University (SMU) law students which comprised of 106 LLB and 17 Juris Doctor degree students graduates. This is a big jump compare to 50 years ago. SMU is Singapore's second law school admitted this pioneer intake in August 2007.
Most Law firms are prepared to pay good money for young law graduates. The starting pay for freshly graduated lawyers is in the region of S$5,000 a month. As Singapore society becomes more complex, more will be expected of our legal system and the lawyers will have a largest part of this pie.
