Private Company To Built Electric Car

A Singapore Company, Mayton Auto, was setup to develop a Uniquely Singapore electric car. The company with partners from China and the United States will be putting about S$10 million for the project. . Mayton planned to test-bedding up to 200 electric vehicles in Punggol Housing Estate and They will run parallel to current testing being done by government agencies. Punggol is a new town that has been known as an eco-precinct with a younger population.
China-based Hebei Shanghong Technology and the United States-based Maytown Technologies (Lihe Investment Holdings from China) will hold stakes in Mayton company. Mayton will start by targeting the Singapore market and gradually expand to the Chinese, U.S. and other markets. The main production and research base will be located in Hengshui, a city in China’s northern province of Hebei.
