Singapore table-tennis stars Li Jiawei called it a day and retiring back to home in Beijing, China. China-born Li became a Singapore citizen at the age of 18 years under the Foreign Sports Talent Scheme and in her hay days was ranked as high as world number three. Over the years, she has collected nearly $1.5 million in performance incentives from Singapore Government via Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) located in Toa Payoh Stadium. She as an ordinary passport holders traveling to China for for less than 15 days starting from the date of entry are exempted from visa, and can enter or exit from China's ports open to foreigners. If she is intending for an extended stay of more than 15 days, she will have to apply for a visa at the local Public Security Office after entry into China. Overstayers will be punished by the Chinese Passport Control Station according to relevant law.
4 Jan 2013 Update: The Singapore Table Tennis Association has launched a series of limited-edition stamps to commemorate their winning of 2 bronze medals at the 2012 London Olympics. The stamps, which feature all six China-born Olympians - Feng Tianwei, Li Jiawei, Wang Yuegu, Gao Ning, Yang Zi and Zhan Jian - were presented to major donors at the association's gala dinner at the Shangri-La Hotel.
