SAF Declared 3 Day Time-Out
Thursday, 12th June 2008
The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) impose a three-day time-out when two servicemen died. On 11 June 2008, a RSAF Cadet Pilot Trainee collapsed during jungle orientation training (JOT) and died of heat stroke in Brunei. And on 10 June 2008, a recruit collapsed at the halfway mark of his 2km training walk at BMT Pulau Tekong.
The suspension will allow the Singapore Armed Forces to review and re-focus on training activities to ensure that proper procedures are in place.
