Dr Goh Keng Swee Passed On

Singapore's former Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Dr Goh Keng Swee, died after battling a long illness. In 1984 Dr Goh retired from politics where he had served as Deputy Prime Minister for 11 years. Dr Goh was educated at Anglo Chinese School and then studied economics at Raffles College. A scholarship took him to the London School of Economics where he obtaining his PhD in 1956.

Dr Goh Keng Swee's body will lie at his home at Dunbar Walk and then in state at the Singapore Parliament from 20 May 2010 to 22 May 2010. A state funeral will be held on Sunday, May 23. Dr Goh was 91.
