Sunday, 11th July 2010

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong visited the Peace Carvin V detachment facility located at Mountain View (US) Air Force Base, Idaho, USA. Peace Carvin V is a partnership between Singapore and the US that spans 25 years. Singapore bought 24 new F-15SG jets under the tie-up arrangement. It is at this base that RSAF pilots are trained to fly and operate the advanced fighter aircraft, which makes up part of the SAF's 3rd-Generation defence capabilities. The F-15SG squadron is part of the air force's Air Combat Command which plans, controls and executes air warfare operations. The RSAF F-15SG detachment was inaugurated in 2009.
