Asian Aerospace '92
Tuesday, 25th February 1992
The Sixth Asian Aerospace '92 (AA92) is a 6-day event, taking place from 25 February to 1 March 1992. The first 4 days of the Singapore Airshow are exclusively for trade attendees and the final 2 weekend days are open to general public at large. Show visitors are treated to an extra 30-minute aerobatic flying display taking place at this year’s Singapore Airshow over the public weekend. This is in addition to the 60-minute aerial display.
The Unites States put up a large presence at this year's Asian Aerospace, due to the ongoing Gulf War crisis. Carrier-based aircraft from the US Navy and US Marine Corps provided excitement to the static display. Also unveiled was the just upgraded A-4K Skyhawk of the Royal New Zealand Air Force under Project Kahu. The French Mirage 2000 completed a noisy aerobatics performance. The RSAF Black Knights aerobatic display team did their rounds of precision aerial manoeuvers.
1992 was the year that RSAF's Hawker Hunter Fighter Jets retired and phased out of service.
