Malaysia Prime Minister Visit Singapore

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak made a two-day working visit to Singapore. Mr Najib was accompanied by Foreign Minister Anifah Aman and Menteri Besar of Johor Abdul Ghani Othman. During the meeting, Prime Minister Najib and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong settled a land swap agreement for four land parcels in Marina South and two land parcels in the Ophir-Rochor area. And put the issue of development charges payable on the three parcels of Malaysian land in Tanjong Pagar, Kranji and Woodlands for the Permanent Court of Arbitration to settle. This breaking the 20-year-old deadlock on the 1990 POA.


Nation building is also about people bonding

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has said in People's Association's 50th anniversary celebrations that nation building is not just about building the infrastructure. Nation building is also about community bonding.


Marina Bay waterfront promenade Opened

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong officially opened the Marina Bay waterfront promenade and Marina Bay City Gallery. The official opening of the 3.5 km waterfront promenade enables all Singaporeans and visitors to enjoy the entire necklace of attractions around the bay. It also represents the unveiling of an exciting new signature skyline for Singapore. The 3.5km waterfront promenade provides a continuous route linking the Marina Centre, Collyer Quay and Bayfront areas. The landscaped waterfront promenade forms a key pedestrian link between the developments at Collyer Quay and Marina Bay Sands. It also acts as an ideal vantage point for events in and around Marina Bay.


PM Visited RSAF Detachment At Mountain View

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong visited the Peace Carvin V detachment facility located at Mountain View (US) Air Force Base, Idaho, USA. Peace Carvin V is a partnership between Singapore and the US that spans 25 years. Singapore bought 24 new F-15SG jets under the tie-up arrangement. It is at this base that RSAF pilots are trained to fly and operate the advanced fighter aircraft, which makes up part of the SAF's 3rd-Generation defence capabilities. The F-15SG squadron is part of the air force's Air Combat Command which plans, controls and executes air warfare operations. The RSAF F-15SG detachment was inaugurated in 2009.


Tanjong Pagar Train Station To Relocate

The Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) station will be relocated from Tanjong Pagar to the Woodlands Train Checkpoint (WTCP) by 1 July 2011. Malaysia would co-locate its railway CIQ facilities at WTCP. Singapore would facilitate the relocation to the WTCP and ensure bus service connectivity from the KTMB Station at WTCP to a nearby MRT Station for the convenience of train passengers. Tanjong Pagar Railway Station Passenger Terminal building would be conserved given its historical significance and would be a centerpiece for the new proposed development on the site. In addition, the old Bukit Timah Railway Station building at Blackmore Drive may also be conserved.
